Support for the Cambridge Weight Plan across the Islands has projected Stornoway-based Terri McGeoghegan into the top 50 out of more than 3,600 consultants across the UK.
Terri, who herself demonstrates the success of the plan, having lost three stone (19kg), has been providing support for clients through the Cambridge Weight Plan for more than two years.
Formerly working from home, Terri now works partly as Hebrides Harmony beauty therapist and partly as an independent Cambridge consultant from the White Rooms in Bayhead, Stornoway.
During November, she and other Cambridge consultants from the Highlands and Islands attended the biggest ever Cambridge Weight Plan conference in Telford in Shropshire – and she came home with one of the top prizes – Sales Champion.
And the other team members came away with prizes, too. Annie Macintyre, from Uist, got a five-year service award; and Samantha Johnson, from Inverness – who was Terri’s own consultant originally starting in August 2014 – won a team-building award.
Marietta MacLeod from Tong, - who was one of Terri’s clients and then was trained up as by her as a consultant - won a Flying Start award; as did Mina Bruce, from Skye.
But as Terri says:” None of this would be possible without our slimmers so thank you.”
Terri’s prize includes five days 5-star trip to Madeira. It is a team building and business opportunity as well as a holiday as it is with the other 49 winners of the Sales Champion title. Terri says: “Cambridge are big on incentives for their consultants…and this is the biggest of the incentives.”
Terri has around 50 Cambridge clients at any time and the local consultants share experiences and support. “We just look out for each other, we all bounce ideas off each other.”
The Cambridge Weight Plan was first founded more than 30 years ago and used to be seen as the “shakes and soups” diet – then moved on to the different steps idea – with much more focus on portion control and diet content.
“I have six in the team now, some people are doing it full time, we are getting busier and busier. Opinions of Cambridge Weight Plan have changed since I started - our results speak for themselves with average weight losses of over 300lbs across our Highlands and Islands team.”
And there are changes to come in the New Year, Terri says. “I am reorganising things in order to be able to not only take on more clients, but have more time with my current ones.
“For clients that maybe don't need a lot of support, I'm considering doing a "drop in" clinic on a Saturday morning, so clients can weigh in, have a wee chat and collect their products. “
